'Murcans.

Oh Americans. Permanently smiley, happy people, who advertise medication on TV and seem to sue anyone for anything. But I tell you one thing they keep damn quiet - they're good at food.

I'm not talking about McDonald's. I'm talking about REAL, honest food. Food I would actually write home about. It's a shocker, isn't it?

Take this counter of cakes and goodies. France, you say? With those macarons, and the elaborately decorated cakes? No, my friend. Good old America.

One thing is true about Americans though - excess. Have you seen all these sauces? All of them are hot sauce. ALL. OF. THEM.

My first meal out after arriving in Denver was a cajun white fish, served with jalepeƱo dauphinoise potatoes, served with chard and a corn chowder sauce. Whodda thunk 'Murica had it in 'em!?

The starter was the best octopus I'd had, but because my dad and step-mum like it so much I had to dive in - there wasn't time to take photos!

I can't remember the name of this restaurant, but whilst we were in there, the mayor of Denver was also having his lunch there too! (My step-mum got very excited about that, apparently mayors are important in America..)
